TOPPER'S TALK - JATIN JAIN 

INTRODUCTION (1:41 PM)

  • UPSC is just an exam.
  • Accept the failure and don't cry over your failures, learn from the mistakes.

STRATEGY (1:43 PM)

  • Follows the basic resources i.e. standard resources and Ncerts.
  • Analyse the PYQs diligently, and try to analyse the pattern of question framing.
  • CSAT:
  • Do not take CSAT lightly, start preparing it from day one.
  • Practise the quant: especially repeated topics such as Permutation & combination and Number system etc.

MAIN'S STRATEGY (2:00 PM)

  • Mains syllabus is predefined, try to study all the topics thoroughly.
  • Analyse the main syllabus, UPSC ask questions from the repeated theme.
  • GS1:
  • History:  Can make short notes on the dynasty by highlighting literature & architecture wise.
  • Society: smriti shah mam's lecture & mains 365 for current affairs issue & topper's copies. 
  • Geography: NCERT, and prepare notes as per the syllabus and VisionIAS sectional test and model answer.
  • GS2:
  • Can refer to VisionIas value-added materials & this year and previous pt 365.
  • Governance:
  • Implementation of policies & E-governance such questions are asked every year.
  • Can refer to Topics copies & Mains 365.
  • Used schemes and diagrams and keywords such as bottom-up approach or Sabka Sath Vikas.
  • SHGs, Pressure groups and NGOs.
  • IR:
  • Can refer to Mains 365.
  • GS3:
  • Internal Security and Disasters: can refer to class notes
  • Economy :
  • Agriculture:  can refer to Ashok Gulati's editorial and there will be one question on food processing.
  • Can refer to mains 365 and class notes.
  • Environment: 
  • It is current affairs oriented and Mains 365 and Topper's copy.
  • S&T : 
  • It is not a predictable section 
  • Best what you can do, follows current affairs diligently.
  • Can refer to Mains 365.
  • GS 4:
  • Prepare an Excel sheet: syllabus value, definition and examples: personal life, civil servant e.g. , quotes and Diagram.
  • Decode ethics: PYQs and prepare a chart by seeing topper copies.
  • Prepare a list of Sanskrit quotes.
  • Can refer to Mehak Jain's topper's notes.
  • Essay:
  • Can prepare Sanskrit quotes.
  • The philosophical essay comes from the repeated theme.
  • Mehak Jain's essay notes and Shubam sir's essay notes.
  • Try to see Topper's essay.
  • Do not use flowery language, the most important is the flow of the essay and try to give a counter-narrative.

ANSWER WRITING (3:04 PM)

  • Try to address the demand of the question first 
  • Secondly, try to structure your answer well.
  • Thirdly, your presentation should be good.
  • One can write in Pointwise Form.
  • Time management is crucial, practise daily.
  • Try to brainstorm, and try to prepare a rough answer to PYQs.

INTERVIEW PREPARATION (3:18 PM)

  • Confidence is important in Interview.

SOCIOLOGY OPTIONAL (3:20 PM)

  • Nitin Sanghwan - essential sociology
  • class notes 
  • Topper's copy.
  • VisionIas test series.
  • Prepare e.g. from newspaper and Telegram channel.
  • Prepare a list of Marxist and feminist scholars.
  • Can add family, marriage, caste, gender, religion and tribals perspective in all of the answers.
